Take Action

Our Priority Legislation
AB 3072 (Petrie-Norris) 2024

AB 3072 requires courts at emergency ex-parte proceedings to consider a parent’s access to illegal firearms when determining if there is a risk of harm to a child and to consider alternatives to in-person contact, including virtual visitation when children are in immediate danger.
A court-ordered pause in in-person contact during escalating violence can save a child’s life.

Governor Newsom has signed AB 3072 (Petrie-Norris) to help protect children from abuse and homicide when violence is escalating.

We thank Assemblymembers Petrie-Norris and Quirk-Silva and Senators Rubio, Eggman, Caballero, Skinner, and Blakespear for their leadership, which has made this critical step in child protection possible!
